The 7-Day Dance Festival is a new project to inspire collaboration among local artists. Dancers and choreographers will form teams and create a new dance piece in just one week to be performed in this public showing with professional stage lighting and tech. The content of the festival is still yet to be known. BRD invites you to take a risk on this unique performance experience, and witness the unfiltered creativity that emerges! The creation of the 7-Day Dance Festival was inspired by the 48-Hour Film Project and the 48-Hour Theater Festival, and is open to all dancers of all dance styles. It is a unique opportunity for dance artists to collaborate and create something brand new in one week.

WHAT: Keenan & Co. presents “Moments”
WHEN: Sat. September 23 at 7:30pm
WHERE: Firehouse PAC 1314 Harris Ave.

"Moments started as a project for the dancers and myself to explore my choreographic ideas in a completely exploratory environment. No planned performances, no set guidelines, no one telling us what looks good or bad. A simple and fun project for everyone involved to refine their dance/choreography skills without the usual pressures associated with creating dances. Through each piece we look into a variety of topics ranging from quaint love to drug abuse, all while focusing on the movement of the dancers. Some pieces have a story, some are pure movement, and some can only be understood by feeling it and not thinking about it. At times it may feel incomplete, others it may leave you completely satisfied. Either way I invite you to come, sit back, relax, and enjoy the show.” Keenan Komoto - Choreographer and Dancer

BELLINGHAM BURLESQUE OF 1927 is a bawdy, cabaret-style musical that takes the wraps off of a travelling Burlesque troupe stopping in Prohibition-era Bellingham. Low comedy and high friction on stage end in a “revealing” act of desperation.  Martha Benedict, Martin Bray, Akilah Williams, Amanda Carpp and the “Top Banana”, Paul Henderson, bare all through songs, dances and vintage slapstick.
